Supporting our Church

DSC9193-DominicDavey-800One way to express your sense of belonging to St Mary’s would be to join the Electoral Roll. Besides saying publically that you are committed to our life together, being on the Electoral Roll makes you a voting member of the church. In particular, you’ll be eligible to vote at our Annual Meeting in April. Therefore, we’d like to encourage you to fill in this Electoral Roll form and return it by 10th March 2019.  Any queries concerning the formation of the new Electoral Roll may be referred to Clifford Want, Electoral Roll Officer,

Annually, the PCC (the Parochial Church Council) reviews the church's income and expenditure and sets a budget for the following year. We monitor our costs carefully. In terms of income, we rely on regular giving by the congregation to help us fulfil our mission ‘to share God’s love’ and realise our vision, we need over £250,000 a year.

We would be delighted if you would consider prayerfully whether you can become one of our many committed givers by joining one of our planned giving schemes. This means that you can contribute regularly whether you get to church on a particular Sunday or not. Those who give in this way mean the PCC can plan confidently for the future. If you say ‘yes’ to giving faithfully to the life of church, whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated. Download a copy of our planned giving leaflet here which contains more information, including details of how Gift Aid can increase the value of your gift if you are a tax payer.

The Electoral Roll and financial response forms are also available in envelopes at the back of the church. Please return them to the Parish Office by Sunday 10th March 2019.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask us.

"Each of you must give you as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance…"  2 Corinthians 9:7-8

Our response:  As a community centred on the Risen Christ - who became poor, so that by his poverty, we may become rich - we live in response to what God has given us. We make our lives an offering, our time, our money and our love.

Yours, Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the splendour, and the majesty; for everything in heaven and on earth is yours. All things come from you, and of your own do we give you.

God’s promise:  “…to Him who by the power at work  within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than we can ask or imagine, to Him be glory in the church…to all generations.”   Ephesians 3:20,21

Our prayer:

In the power of the Spirit
    and in union with Christ,
    we pray to the Father.
That our life together may be loving, good and holy.
Lord hear us.
    Lord, graciously hear us.
That we may give sacrificially out of gratitude for Your goodness and grace,
Lord hear us.
    Lord, graciously hear us.

That we may offer generous hospitality to all we meet,
    Lord hear us.
    Lord, graciously hear us.

That we may tell others of the good news of Your love in Jesus Christ,
Lord hear us.
    Lord, graciously hear us.

That our faith and confidence in You might be strengthened.
    Lord hear us.
Lord, graciously hear us, in the name of the One who gave Himself for us, even Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
