75th Anniversary of VE Day

VE Day YouTubejpgThe coronavirus outbreak means people are commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day within their own homes and in different ways. All public gatherings have been cancelled for the time being but a series of events is still going ahead in our neighbouring Cam Villages to mark the end of World War Two in Europe.

There will be 1940s picnics in homes and front gardens, socially-distanced wreath-laying, a two-minute silence, a re-broadcast of Winston Churchill's speech and an address from the Queen among the national events taking place.

With thanks to Rev'd Alex Jeewan, Andrew, Edward and William for help in putting this video together which includes a short address, the "Cry for Peace", and The Last Post and the Reveille played by Edward. Click here or on the image for this 8 minute YouTube video.

8th May 2020.
