Reopening of St Mary’s Church
Proposed reopening of St. Mary’s Church Saffron Walden in response to the latest Diocesan guidance
Following the publication of the Government’s road map and as we approach Holy Week, Bishop Peter has asked that churches review their own local decisions on the opening of church buildings for congregational worship with limited numbers and following all guidelines (e.g. social distancing, face masks and hand sanitising).
Our plans for the next two weeks are:
Sunday 7th March 8 am BCP Holy Communion service: congregation limited to 30 people. Communion offered in one kind to congregation, pre-booking on Eventbrite or by telephoning Parish Office, livestreamed on YouTube as usual.
Sundays and Wednesdays 2 pm-4 pm: Open for private prayer
Sunday 14th March 10 am Mothering Sunday family service: congregation limited to 50 people. Pre-booking as above. No recording of service.
Services after 14th March have still to be decided.
