Harvest Festival 16 Sept 2018
On 16th September 2018 – St. Mary’s celebrated Harvest Festival at a special family service. Members of St Mary’s Church Guides Section attended the service and the church junior choir led the singing of traditional and contemporary harvest hymns.
An emphasis of the service was on sharing what God has given us and the congregation brought harvest gifts to be given to Jimmy’s in Cambridge which works with the homeless, one of the charities supported by St. Mary’s.
The rector, David Tomlinson, commented, “We celebrated the Harvest and thought about how we can treasure God’s creation, particularly by playing our part to reduce global-warming. In addition, we collected gifts of Jimmy’s who do such excellent work.”
