Confirmation Service - 25 Nov 2018
At a challenging confirmation service on Sunday 25th November 2018, five young people and five adults affirmed their faith in Jesus Christ.

One of the adult candidates was from All Saints Church, Great Chesterford and the remainder worship at St. Mary’s, Saffron Walden. Two of the adults gave moving accounts during the service of their journey to faith and the welcome they had received and two of the young people led the prayers.
The service took place on the annual commemoration in the Church of England of “Christ the King” and in a thought-provoking sermon, the bishop referred to the calling of Christians to the service of God and of all people, to surrender or relinquishment to God’s will with cheerful (or literally hilarious) giving and to live as a sign and herald of the kingdom of God. A recording of the sermon is available on the sermon's page of this website.
The Rector, Rev’d Cannon David Tomlinson commented, “It was a glorious celebration of the climax of the Church’s year and of the gift of faith given to the 10 individuals who were confirmed. Two of them spoke of how Jesus had drawn them into God’s life and Church, and how excited they were about serving God for the rest of their lives.“
