New Team Vicar
The Rev’d Alex Jeewan was licensed on Wednesday 25th July 2018 as Team Vicar for the parishes of Great and Little Chesterford, Littlebury, Littlebury Green and Wendon’s Ambo within the Saffron Walden and Villages Team Ministry.
All Saints Church in Great Chesterford was packed for the licensing service where Alex was warmly welcomed to his new ministry. The congregation was bolstered by a coach-load of supporters from Alex’s previous ministry in Witham.
Alex said he is looking forward to working with the people in his new parishes and to sharing God’s love within the church and wider community.
Alex is 47 and has been married to Caroline for 21 years. They have two children Tom and Ben, as well as their friendly dog Bailey. He was ordained in 2015 and served his curacy in the Witham and Villages Team Ministry.
Alex was born in London, but has lived in Swindon, Harlow, East London, Epping, Cambridge and Witham. However, he much considers himself to be a West Essex man!
In his spare time, Alex likes watching films, listening to music, playing his guitar, walking the dog and has recently taken up archery, although he claims he is not very good at it.
Team Rector, the Rev’d David Tomlinson said. “I am delighted to welcome Alex and his family. He is joining a strong and collaborative team and is going to enrich our shared life and help the churches and parishes under his care as Team Vicar flourish.”
