The music plays on
During the COVD-19 Pandemic
Oli King, our Director of Music, reports that the adults and choral scholars of our nearly 70 strong choir are continuing weekly choir practices online by Zoom. All parts of the choir (adults, choral scholars and juniors) are also working towards various online recording projects which will come to fruition in the near future.
In addition, members of the Junior Choir are resuming their Voice for Life ribbon training programme. Elsewhere, we have developed a sustainable format for a weekly online service which involves team-wide input, and a variety of local musicians are providing the music for this.
Socially speaking, the choir are keeping active, and time at the end of the practices is given over to socialising together. We intend to perform a Zoom play of ‘Under Milk Wood’ by Dylan Thomas over the bank holiday weekend. Of particular note, is a new service setting of ‘Missa Brevis’ which has been composed by our Assistant Organist - Jeremy Allen.
