This year’s Annual Meetings were held in St Mary's Church Saffron Walden on Sunday 5th May at 12.00 noon.
ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING ELECTION RESULTS for St Mary’s, SW.
On 5th May 2024 the following people were elected;
Simon Potter and Vivian Falk as Churchwardens,
Gill Caswell as a Deanery Synod representative, and
Bronwen Ferland, Patrick Li and Hannah Razzell as lay representatives on the PCC.

We have vacancies for one Deanery Synod Representative (
Application form) and ten parochial church council representatives (

Result of elections at our Annual Church Meetings on 25th April 2021

At the Meeting of the Parishioners and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting on the 25th April 2021 Denis Tindley and Gill Caswell were elected as churchwardens, and Pamela Jenner, William Rose, Jan Siewertsen and Pam Russell were appointed as assistant churchwardens. Shawn Martin was elected as a representative of the laity to the Deanery Synod and Hannah Razzell, Richard Freeman, John Pickthorn, Anna Martin and Bron Ferland were elected to the PCC.
This year’s Annual Meetings were held on Zoom on Sunday 25th April at 12 noon.
Nominations for members of the PCC, Deanery Synod, Churchwardens and Assistant Churchwardens
Nomination Forms can be downloaded from the website or requested from the Parish Office, showing the formal requirements for nominees to fill three casual vacancies on the Deanery Synod for two years, and six standard vacancies for members of the PCC for three years. Nominations are also invited for the positions of Churchwardens and Assistant Churchwardens. Scanned nomination forms may be submitted by email to the PCC secretary at pcc@stmaryssafronwalden.org or posted through the Parish Office letter box or handed to a churchwardens or sidesman. Completed forms should include the names of the proposer and seconder and do need to be signed but you don't all need to sign the same form. If you wish to find out more of what being on these bodies involves, please contact me, the churchwardens or any of the existing members. I would be very grateful if nominations could be sent to me by 11th April.

At the first Annual Meetings at St Mary’s to be held on Zoom on Sunday 25th October, Denis Tindley and Gill Caswell were elected as churchwardens and Bill Rose, Pamela Jenner and Jan Siewertsen were elected as Assistant Churchwardens. Judith Hasler and Clifford Want were elected to the Deanery Synod for a three-year term. David Birchall, Steve Hasler, Rufus Barnes, Robin O’Neill, Matt Williamson and Lisa Brook were elected to the PCC also for a three-year term.

St Mary's Church Saffron Walden Meeting of the Parishioners and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting held on Sunday 7th April 2019 at 11.30am at St Mary’s Church, Saffron Walden.
ANNUAL MEETING ELECTIONS & PCC APPOINTMENTS 2019 At the Meeting of Parishioners on 7th April, Gill Caswell and Denis Tindley were elected as churchwardens and Pamela Jenner and Bill Rose as assistant churchwardens. At the following Annual Parochial Church Meeting, Martin Hugall, Noel Starr, Jan Siewertsen and Paddy Carver were elected for a three-year term as lay members of the PCC. There remain two vacancies on the PCC and a casual vacancy for one year on the Deanery Synod. At the PCC meeting the following appointments and elections were made: vice chairman -Denis Tindley; PCC secretary -Lisa Brook; treasurer -David Birchall; and electoral roll officer -Clifford Want. St Mary's Church Saffron Walden Meeting of the Parishioners and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting held on Sunday 22nd April 2018 at St Mary’s Church, Saffron Walden.
Annual meeting elections & PCC appointments 2018
At the Meeting of Parishioners on 22nd April 2018, Gill Caswell and Denis Tindley were elected as churchwardens and Pamela Jenner and Bill Rose as assistant churchwardens. At the following Annual Parochial Church Meeting Shawn Martin was elected for a two-year term to the deanery synod. A third of the lay members of the PCC were to be elected for a three-year term and the following people were elected: Hazel Colebrooke, Bron Ferland, Richard Freeman, Anna Martin, John Pickthorn and Hannah Razzell who cannot take up her post until October 2018 because she first needs to be on the electoral roll for six months. The following were elected as lay members of the PCC for a one-year term: Jenny Kirkaldy and Noel Starr. At the following PCC meeting the following appointments and elections were made: vice chairman – Denis Tindley; PCC secretary – Lisa Brook; treasurer – David Birchall; and electoral roll officer – Cath Stuckey.
